Do I qualify for the free Verifone C18?
The free C18 upgrade is available to sites that meet all of the following:
- Not affiliated with a major oil program
- Currently running Verifone Ruby2 or Topaz
- Enrolling in Verifone Commander Payments (credit card processing)
- Single-site operator (multi-site merchants may not qualify)
Installation costs are not included. The promotion runs while supplies last, so earlier enrollment is recommended.
What card types are supported?
Every major brand and the fleet cards your drivers carry:
- Credit: VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express
- Debit: all major brands, with PIN debit enablement through your Commander device
- Fleet: WEX and Voyager
- Contactless & EMV chip cards, fully PCI-DSS compliant
When will I receive my deposits?
Daily deposits — funds land in your account the day after you close your batch. Predictable cashflow, no surprises, no extended hold periods.
Do I need new hardware to accept Commander Payments?
You'll need a Verifone Commander Site Controller paired with the C18. If you're already on a C18, our team activates payment processing on your existing system. If you're upgrading from Ruby2 or Topaz, the C18 ships free for qualifying sites and our network of Verifone Authorized Service Contractors handles installation and training.
Heads up: when Commander Release 56.00 ships, the C18 becomes required for compatibility — so the upgrade is going to happen either way.
How long does installation and onboarding take?
Activation on an existing Verifone setup is typically same-day. For sites upgrading hardware, a Verifone Authorized Service Contractor (VASC) handles the on-site installation and is followed by training for your team so you're processing securely and efficiently from day one.
What about security and PCI compliance?
The Commander platform is built around PCI-DSS compliance, EMV chip card support, and end-to-end encryption with tokenization. Your customers' card data is protected through every step of the transaction, and you stay compliant with industry security standards by default.
